BWB Europe 2010 Barcelona, 16 to 19 September All Camps

For the first time ever, BWB-Europe made its way to Barcelona, Spain. The camp was held at Regal FC Barcelona’s Cuitat Esportiva Joan Gamper from 16-19 September.

It featured the top 50 basketball players (ages 17 & under) from 25 different European countries. 2006 FIBA World Championship gold medal winners Rudy Fernandez, Marc Gasol (BWB-Europe alum) and Pau Gasol took part in the camp, giving it a local face.

To get this edition underway, camp participants were divided into four teams during the BWB "Draft" where NBA players and coaches selected teams based on individual players’ skill level.

From there on in campers attended training sessions focusing on individual skills and basic fundamentals. The final day of camp featured the camp All-Star game, as well as various skill-based mini-competitions.

The busy schedule included Life Skills sessions, which were held each morning for the campers at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The first session was a camp overview which was led by Marc Gasol and Marin Sadlcek. For the second session, the main objective was to convey – thanks to UNICEF – the important health concerns, with special emphasis on HIV/AIDS awareness.
